Poppies on Parade and One Sheet Wonder! - Marcea Tetamore, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

A week ago, I held a Poppies on Parade class, featuring the beautiful Peaceful Poppies Designer Series paper from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog (p. 25). I follow Patty Bennett who is a very successful Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – she just achieved $2 million in sales (WHAT???) so I figure her ideas are pretty good ones – LOL! But she showed how you can make 72 cards from a pack of Designer Series paper. Yes, 72! After she explained how she did that, I thought, OMG, how brillant! And oh so easy!

Take a sheet of 12 x 12 inch Designer Series paper (DSP in Stampin’ Up! shorthand). Make sure you look on both sides to see if there is a pattern to the paper that you want to consider. Then cut three strips of 4″. Then cut each strip at 5 1/4″ – so you’ll have two 4″x 5 1/4″ sections and three little strips of 4″ x 1 1/2″. As you can see from the photos, you then use the DSP on the fronts of your card stock card base. The little strips can be used or not.

I meant to take photos of everyone putting their cards together, but we were having so much fun and laughing, I forgot! The ladies came up with some beautiful designs, I wish I had gotten photos. And this will work with any DSP. We also used the Peaceful Poppies Elements and Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon. I love the ribbon because it can be colored with Stampin’ Blends or the markers. It is on backorder until April, but I think it’s worth waiting for!

I used the “one sheet wonder” concept when I made some samples for the Dream Wedding Expo that I attended last Sunday. I used the Magnolia Lane and Garden Lane DSPs for these Save the Date, Your Invited and Thank You cards. I’ll post more about the Dream Wedding Expo in the next few days. I made the cutest treat holders – and they were soooo easy! Just some cutting, scoring and tear and tape, and done! I hope you’ll consider using your 12 x 12 DSP to make cards. You don’t have to make 72, but it’s nice knowing you can!
